Ok David, you are the sought of person I do not like, but it is all about the promises. What promises God made to you? And what promises to the Hebrews. Promises that came through your line. And these Chroniclers had not heard of Christ, what compelled them to keep such a fierce lineage of David, the promise. Always looking for a king, always looking for deliverance from our inadequate selves and our unfair situation.

Eventually the King in the line of David provided deliverance from ourselves, but not from our situation. Jesus came and ‘a bruised reed he would not break’. Throughout history ‘He’ has been the point. He was slain at the foundation of the world. These genealogies are just a small snapshot of the plan of God, the way he chose to bring salvation to the world healing to the nations and forgiveness to all who believe.

Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,  but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

Read 1 Chronicles 3 again.

Think about the person of Jesus.

How can the Messiah, the Lord Jesus, help you today?
